Educational workshops

Leadership and Self-Confidence for Political Participation:

Organized by Hacedoras.Org, Minervas Producciones, the Political School, and the Cerito y Cruz Foundation, this project strengthened the political leadership of Dominican women. With 50 full scholarships, the virtual workshop helped empower participants to generate positive change. Supported by the British Embassy and the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF), the process was documented in a short film that reflected its impact.

Cinematic Appreciation:

This course covers the basic concepts of audiovisual storytelling and mise-en-scène with examples and practical exercises. Students gain the necessary tools to objectively assess the quality of a film while enjoying the viewing experience and incorporating knowledge about the filmmaking process. Content: 1. Audiovisual Narrative: Theme and thesis. Structures and ways of telling the story. Conflict. Character and character types. 2. The Audiovisual Image: Characteristics, elements that make it up, and their functions. 3. Audiovisual Language: Shot, types of shots. Camera movements and shifts. Semiotics and functions. 4. Genres 5. Direction, Production, and Editing. 6. Author-Work-Consumer Relationship.
